Krystal Resort Cancun Warms about Overly Helpful Local Scam

Krystal Resort Cancun Scam Watch knows that everyone wants to believe in the best intentions of others. This is no different when people are on vacation and when locals offer to help them with different tasks or help them navigate the area, they will eagerly accept the help. Unfortunately, not everyone has the best intentions, and Krystal Resort Cancun Scam Watch warns that if you allow someone to help you in one of these situations, you may fall victim to a scammer.

When you are out traveling the city beware of pushy locals who insist on helping you with various tasks. Even for things as simple as getting a ticket for a train, people may insist on doing it for you and will not allow you to resist. What happens is that after they have finished the task they will demand a tip from you for their help, even if you never asked for it. The person helping you may also be trying to distract you so a partner can steal from you.

Krystal Resort Cancun Scam Watch says that the best way to avoid this scam is to watch out for people who are trying to force themselves on you. If they try to help you with something tell them resolutely that you don’t want or need the help and get away as soon as possible.

Krystal Resort Cancun Members Mention That Hotel Phone Calls Late At Night Could Be A Scam

Krystal Resort Cancun Scam Squad knows that after a long day of sightseeing or working on business, many travelers enjoy the soft beds found in their hotel rooms. All that most people really want from a hotel room is that good night’s sleep that will recharge their batteries to get them ready for the next day. What they do not want is to fall victim to a scam.

If you receive a phone call in the middle of the night in a hotel room, it could be a scam, reminds the members of the Krystal Resort Cancun Scam Prevention Squad. It is usually very easy to get the direct number to hotel rooms and scammers will randomly call the rooms until they get someone to answer. When a guest at a hotel answers, the scam begins. The caller will say they are from the front desk or some other part of the hotel. They will claim they had a problem with the credit card that was used by the guest to book the room or pay for services. They will then ask the guest to give them that number so that they can resolve the problem and let the guest get back to sleep. Because a person was woken out of a deep sleep, they will not be thinking clearly. They will assume that the phone call is legitimate and will give the caller their credit card information. The caller will use that number to make fraudulent purchase.

Krystal Resort Cancun Scam Squad says to prevent this from happening, remember a basic rule: never give out a credit card number to someone that calls you. Go down to the front desk or call the front desk yourself to confirm that there even was a problem and to come up with the right resolution that is not a scam.
